Why "The Fourth of July" and not "Independence Day"?

Hey, everyone. Just wanted to write a small blog regarding something that has been frustrating me ever since I'd been celebrating Independence Day. Apparently, people all over the United States of America have been renaming Independence Day "the Fourth of July". I wonder, why is that? I know the Declaration of Independence was drafted on the fourth of July in 1776, but why do they not call the Fourth of July Independence Day? Can someone answer me that? I know July 4th has existed since the Roman Calendar was put into effect, but people should try to call the Fourth of July Independence Day at least once in their entire lifetime. What, is it taboo to say "Happy Independence Day" instead of "Happy Fourth of July"? No one calls Christmas Day "The Twenty-Fifth of December", do they? Do they call New Year's Day "The First of January"? I don't hear that going around, so why in Heaven's name does Independence Day ...

Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century - theme song

Image
Frozen in a time and space divide But how would the universe survive? For long they were out of luck, But now they're saved by the duck. Duck Dodgers of the twenty-fourth and one half century, Defending the powerless and the weak. Duck Dodgers of the twenty-fourth and one half century, The fighter of Martian tyranny. Oh, but he's the duck of persuasion Ultimate resistance soon dissolves A definite duck beyond all temptation Ensuring the universe still revolves. Space is such a lonely place to be stuck But it's not lonely for this duck For hordes of Martians run When he shoots his duck-billed laser gun. Duck Dodgers of the twenty-fourth and one half century, Protecting the powerless and the weak Duck Dodgers; he's fighting tyranny In the twenty-fourth and one half century!
