Moana is Defeated

Despite putting up a brave fight against the colonists who invaded Motunui, Princess Moana and several of her subjects had been captured and taken prisoner.  As the young heroine is led off the gangway of the colonists' ship, her eyes scan the crowd frantically for another of her people or a family member.  Little does she know, her mother Sina was taken captive and being led off another of the colony of ships that invaded Motunui.

"Keep your sight ahead of you," the soldier who held Moana ordered through clenched teeth.  "You won't be seeing your home ever again.  But don't fret.  We'll give you a new life in this city."

"What kind of new life?" the helpless Moana asked, obviously terrified.

"We've been monitoring you and your natives," the soldier told her.  "You move like an acrobat.  So, we've decided to place you in the one place you'd be very compatible in."

Moana cast a sidelong glance and furrowed her brow as she silently told him, Did it ever occur to you that my island is where I'd be very compatible?  Of course, she didn't dare say it out loud, for fear of angering her captors.  After they saw what she'd do to defend her island and herself, they now knew what she was capable of, which means they'd expect her to attempt escape.  So, all she could do at the point was follow their orders and not risk more severe punishment.

Maui... Te Fiti... where are you? she wondered to herself.  If there was ever a time I needed divine intervention... it's now.
