New Egyptian God support card being created for OCG (and hopefully, the TCG).

Hello, everyone.

I know this is rare, having one update on top of the next, but I'd just wanted to share my thoughts with you on a new card that the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game is currently planning to put into production.  (And, if we're lucky, fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game will also have the pleasure of collecting this card.)

What is the card, you ask?  Well, for those who remember the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters TV series, there was one monster that was never conceived as a card, and it was created by fusing the 3 Egyptian God Monsters into 1 being.  That being was known as "The Creator God of Light, Horakhty".

Well, hang on to your Duel Disks, fans, because that very monster is now being released in the OCG as a trading card—and the seventh one with a Special Victory Condition, to boot.

For those who may get confused about the effects of this card, let me break them down for you.  First effect:

"Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set.  Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 3 monsters whose original (printed) names are "Obelisk the Tormentor", "The Winged Dragon of Ra", and "Slifer the Sky Dragon", and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways."

That effect will likely hinder a lot of people who will want to play this card, considering that the legal version of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" cannot be Special Summoned.  But, if Horakhty is summoned to the field, it has two devastating effects.  The first one:

"The Special Summon of this card cannot be negated."

That means, even Counter Trap Cards such as "Solemn Judgment" and "Black Horn of Heaven" will be completely powerless to stop it from being summoned to the field.

Now, for the final effect.  Remember when I said that this card held a Special Victory Condition?  Well, here it is:

"The player that Special Summons this card wins the Duel."

So, that about covers it.  On top of being immune to summon-negation, once "The Creator God of Light, Horakhty" hits the field... Game over.  Your opponent can do nothing else; they've lost.

I, for one, think this card is worth getting, and I also think anyone who is trying to create an Egyptian God Deck will also be aiming for it.  You can bet that, once that card hits the TCG circuit, I'll be one of the first to jump onto claiming it.

I hope you enjoyed reading this update, and I hope I piqued your interests with this first look into the future of the Egyptian Gods.  Until next time, keep smiling, and keep dreaming.
